Hi there, friend! I’m so glad you’re here. If we were meeting in person, I’d invite you to grab a cup of coffee, curl up on the couch, and swap stories like old friends catching up. I love listening as much as I love sharing, and this space is my way of opening the door to both.
I’m a child of the One True King, the wife of a U.S. Navy Chaplain and Marine Corps veteran, and also “Mama” to four incredible boys who keep my days full, loud, and deeply meaningful. I trained as an attorney once upon a time, but these days I spend my time home educating, moonlighting in children’s ministry, and occasionally dabbling in curriculum writing.
Books are my love language—our personal library has grown to over 2,000 volumes! One day, I dream of opening a small community library where literature and life intersect, and friendships are forged in the quiet corners between the pages. I especially love designing character-building, faith-based curriculum from a classical perspective that speaks to the hearts and minds of my boys. Maybe one day, it’ll be polished enough to share beyond the walls of our home.
I’m learning (slowly and imperfectly) how to rest—a skill I didn’t realize was so hard to master. But the ocean helps. There’s just something about standing before God’s mighty waters, feeling small and held in His vast creation, that quiets my soul and reminds me to breathe.
When I’m not teaching or writing or wrangling small humans, I love reading aloud with my boys, enjoying pizza and movie nights as a family, and going all-in on cheesy date nights with my husband (think: a homemade charcuterie board and a good movie). I’m a fan of tacos with a side of guac, a good cup of coffee, and always—always—chocolate. I also dream of setting sail on an around-the-world cruise that hits every single continent… but for now, military life has given us a beautiful way to explore new places and cultures a little at a time.
This blog is my little corner of the internet where I hope you feel seen, welcomed, and encouraged. I’m so glad you stopped by.
With joy,
Amber
